Since 2016, Rainbow for Africa UK have trained and supported local healthcare professionals operating under challenging environmental circumstances (for example remote and/or deprived settings)
Our work inludes:
- Updating the knowledge of healthcare staff on common clinical presentations and new/emerging medical issues.
- Running educational sessions in close collaboration with local health authorities and local healthcare partners.
- Maintaining and providing free-to-access courses to enhance the skills of local clinicians and healthcare providers.
Additionally, we aim to train resident staff to recognise critical and / or life-threatening emergencies, thus facilitating important decision-making processes that may prompt onwards referral.
Our activities during these free medical camps include clinical work in partnership with local health professionals and volunteers, as well as coaching of local medical and health professional students by a multi-disciplinary team of local and internationally-trained clinicians.
